Which Social Media is Best for Your Company? Instagram Works for Fifty Shades of Grey

Yesterday I got an update in my news feed that said “Fifty Shades of Grey Filming Begins: Get Your Handcuffs Ready” with an image of a clapperboard, see above, with time, roll, scene and take information. The clapperboard image was posted on the Instagram account of the author of Fifty Shades of Grey, E. L. James.

Instagram is the perfect social network to post the clapperboard image. It was perfect for a couple of reasons: 

  1.  Buyers of the Fifty Shades of Grey book trilogy use Instagram.
  2. Users of Instagram fit the demographic of the potential buyer of the Fifty Shades book trilogy and movie.
  3. Instagram is for images, it’s a great place to post the image of the clapperboard image signifying the beginning of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie production for fans to see and begin getting excited about. *Note –  The hype surrounding the movie is in full force,  the release is scheduled for February 14, 2015 and already we are seeing images from location scenes in Vancouver. As a business owner, asking yourself these questions when trying to identify which social networks you should be a part of is helpful.

  1. What social networks do your customers use?
  2. What social network fits your demographic?
  3. What social network naturally lends itself to your type of business?
  4. Do I have the time and resources it requires to properly create content daily?
